Washington D.C., Philladelphia & New Jersey

Starting from this part of my trip, I got rid of the car and started using as much public transportation as I could. That was pretty fun actually. Greyhound, New Jersey Transit, Metro in DC, Septa in Philly, MTA in New York, Shuttle in Atlantic City....

Washington D.C., the Capital City of United States, has a whole bunch of very sensitive and important facilities - the Pentagon, the White House, State Capitol, Headquarters of FBI, CIA... However, after 9-11, most of them are closed for tourists. I could only watch them from the outside.

Left: Subway in D.C. (Metro) is very neat and tidy. They have cushioned seats!

Right: The White House. See, everybody can only watch it from outside only like I did.

Left: US Capitol Building. It is really much bigger than what we see in TV.

Right: The Washington Monument. I was trying to be artistic here in this picture. How's it?

Left: Something really neat in D.C. is, all the museums are free there. I went to 4 of them - Botanical Garden, National Gallery of Art, Natural Science Museum and Museum of American History. Listen, Ladies, Natural Science Museum is a Must for you guys. Because they have REAL HUGE Diamonds there displaying. Like this one, it's a 423 carats Sapphire.

Right: In the same museum, they have display about Eskimo's life.

New Jersey, I spent around a week there. Shopping is very fun there as they do not charge Tax for clothing. I also gambled in Atlantic City for 30 minutes only due to some logistic problem. (You know, missing train, catching bus..) I didn't lose and win a Penny. 5 bucks out, 5 bucks back. How nice.

Left: I stayed at Maria's, my roomate Darlene's mother, house when I was in New Jersey. She is such a nice lady and keeps a very cute cat, Bella. When you wear a smelly sock, Bella will attack it and hold it without releasing. So cute!

Right: Does everybody watch the movie A Beautiful Mind? That is what brought me here. Right, this is Princeton University. I joined those campus tour for Pre-Undergraduate students and parents. How nice, somebody show me around the campus for free. Haha!!! I didn't meet Dr. John Nash though. But look at the Ivy there. They claimed they started the Ivy League. Oh well, they say so. As a matter of fact though, the campus is really very cute and pretty. Very comfortable.

I have spent 2 days in Philadelphia. Not too long, but long enough for me to learn its historical importance to the country.

Left: The Liberty Bell, symbolized the freedom of this country.

Right: The Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. The United States of America was created.

Left: This is a picture from Downtown Philadelphia. You might want to click it and look close to the title of the bus...... Yea... they love their team.

Right: I met the China Town in Philadelphia accidentally. So I ended up eating a Singapore Fry Rice Noodles (星洲炒米) there that night. It was good. I haven't had 星洲炒米for a long time!
